The inset front porch is supported by Doric columns. The house is of brick with a frame second story. It first appears in the City Directory in 1907 when Dr F.J. Patchin is listed as the owner.

Unlike many homes in Huning Highland, this house has always been a single-family home and was never converted to apartments. That being said, the home still needed significant work when it was purchased in 2005 by Steve and Kara Grant. The Grants were no strangers to restoration, having completed work on their own home next door at 209 High NE. All systems and mechanicals needed updating. The lack of TLC by previous owners also meant replacing flooring and touching nearly every surface in the house.
