Hotel Parq Prepares for September Soft Opening

Important Hearing On Proposed Design Guidelines In Huning Highlands

The Landmarks and Urban Conservation Commission will be having a hearing on new guidelines proposed by the city that apply to alteration of the exterior of buildings, new construction, and demolition in our historic neighborhood.

The ordinance must be approved by the LUCC for the overlay zone. The public is invited to two hearings. The first, July 14, 2010 will be a working session where the LUCC will hear and comment on property owners views.

Board Openings

The Huning Highland Historic District Association is looking for two new board members. If you are a resident (renters and owners) and have an idea for our neighborhood that you think would enhance safety or beautification, or would be just plain fun, please join us. Terms run for two years and meetings are once a month on the first Wednesday at 6:30 PM.

If you are interested in serving your neighborhood, come to the next meeting on July 7 or contact one of the current officers: Joaquin (jgarofalo@hotmail.com), Amberley (apyles505@msn.com), Ann (a.louisa.carson@gmail.com), or Bonnie (anderson_bonnie@aps.edu).

City to Develop Parking Plan affecting Huning Highlands

In order for businesses and residents to re-locate to Huning Highlands and the EDO business district, business owners and families need to feel confident that their parking needs will be met. In many sections of the neighborhood, parking is becoming limited.

Take a look at the new post-topper signs which will soon be going up in our neighborhood. LUCC will be ordering and installing ours along with similar ones for the Nob Hill Historic District. Snazzy, huh!
